Investing Women Angels

Investing Women welcomes women who are interested in investing in early-stage companies. We offer a friendly and supportive environment in which investors can become comfortable with angel investing.

Investing Women meet six times per year. We welcome visitors who are considering joining the group and would like to see how it works.

At each meeting, our network has the opportunity to hear pitches from two or three investable entrepreneurs. In addition, we have updates from portfolio companies in which our members have already invested. Our members are entrepreneurs and professionals from a wide variety of industries and each offers a unique blend of knowledge and experience to the wider group.

We understand new members may feel they want to learn as much as possible about being an angel investor and how to be an ‘Intelligent Investor’. We offer introductory briefings to help new members understand the basics and to signpost them to additional information on investing topics.

As well as providing an excellent environment for women to invest in early stage companies, we also have a strong ethos of using our skills and experiences to support promising founders. Though it is not a requirement, many of our members are willing to share their skills, knowledge and experiences to help founders grow and develop their companies. Some even take up non-executive directorships with portfolio companies as investor directors.

To be an angel investor with Investing Women, you must self-certify as either a High Net Worth individual or a Sophisticated Investor. We also have our own membership agreement, confidentiality requirements and, like all groups, we must observe the money laundering regulations and ID checks.

Our senior team is charged with supporting the successful operation and growth of Investing Women Angels.

Our Board

The Investing Women Angels Board is headed up by CEO Jackie Waring. It receives strategic advice and direction from our company directors.
