Award winning condiment company, Gusto Artisan Foods’ ambition, is to be the leading market innovator in the field of functional foods by developing a unique range of cutting edge products, converging science, technology and nutrition, to assist in the fight against a wide range of lifestyle related diseases, ailments and conditions.
Utilising product and ingredient innovation, we are going beyond taste and creating a new range of products, with added health benefits, by fortifying, enriching and enhancing their dietary composition with novel nutraceutical and functional ingredients. These are ingredients that provide health and medicinal benefits, including the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
In conjunction with scientists from Queen Margaret University (QMU), we have developed our first fully nutraceutical prototype – OMG3. A unique oil with an everyday application, OMG3 is fortified with a vegetarian form of DHA, the omega 3 component normally sourced from oily fish. The DHA omega 3 was harvested from marine algae, so no fish were harmed in this formulation – and, of course, no fishy flavour.
The team at Investing Women has nurtured me along this path and has helped me to harness my potential and boost my confidence, so that I can turn my big and bold ideas into reality.
The Investing Women team gave me the tools and mindset that I too could be an Entrepreneur and realise my vision for Gusto , which led to a successful angel investment from the Apollo syndicate.
I have enjoyed a great mentoring relationship from Jackie Waring, one that has developed into a solid friendship and she still continues to support and encourage me; I know I can call on her for help and advice at anytime.
Utilising what I have learned from Jackie, I now have the privilege of supporting, encouraging and mentoring young people who now work with Gusto, completing the circle.
